12/12 Update: It's a beautiful snowy day for a Drive-In Movie! Bundle up tight, drive slowly, and be sure to pick up a yummy dinner from a local restaurant before heading over!
In light of changes to a Durango tradition of participating and viewing The Nutcracker as produced by State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, Durango Dance has organized a community COVID-compliant Nutcracker. Durango students are invited to participate and in true Durango fashion, we're putting a local spin on the classic!
Our locally made film will show at a Drive-In Movie on December 11th, 12th, and 13th! Please enter through the light at Durango High School then head north toward the Fairgrounds (behind the Senior Center)
San Juan Basin Health has enthusiastically approved our Drive-In event. They asked us to remind everyone to please be masked if you must leave your vehicle and stay socially distanced. SJBH asks for each vehicle to contain members of one household only. Additionally, the drive-in regulations we're following assume everyone will stay in their vehicles (our broadcast will be through your FM radio, and it's December, so stay cozy and warm where you can hear). Outdoor gatherings (different from drive-ins) are currently limited to 75 socially distanced people during the Code Red. Lastly, purchasing your ticket in advance and online assures a contactless payment and ticket taking system. We will scan your QR code through your car window or with limited contact if we have trouble scanning through the glass.
Online streaming available as well, December 19th. Enjoy an interactive experience with the directors, in the comfort of your own home!
